Schneider Electric Systems USA, Inc. seeks a Principal Firmware Engineer in Foxboro, MA.

Job Description: Design, develop, and test firmware for Foxboro DCS Embedded Controllers and Gateways using modern protocols such as Profinet, OPC UA, EtherNet/IP, Modbus, and others, with a focus on security aspects like certificate-based authentication. Contribute to detailed system architecture, functional, and design specifications. Collaborate with offshore development and QA teams. Eligible for remote work 2 days per week.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, and at least 8 years of experience in embedded firmware development or related roles. Experience should include developing firmware in C and C++ for embedded systems in multitasking and multithreading environments; developing for RTOS such as Nucleus, VXWorks, and Linux; using modern protocols including TCP/IP and adhering to IEC 62443 Cyber Security standards; developing for various systems like distributed process control and safety systems; and coordinating with offshore and geographically dispersed teams.
