Your Career

We're seeking innovative engineers who want to design new, state-of-the-art products that do not exist today. These engineers love coding and aim to build global products, bringing new ideas to develop security solutions that solve real-world problems. We look for leaders who take ownership and are driven to pursue problems at every level. Collaboration is core to our culture, and we need engineers who can communicate effectively and work well with multi-functional teams toward common goals.

As a member of the Layer-7 Application Security group, you will be responsible for designing and developing security features on the next-generation firewall platform, integrating with our security services cloud. You will collaborate with product management on user requirements, contribute to functional design, implement efficiently, and interact with quality assurance and field support teams throughout the software development cycle.

Your Impact

• Participate in all phases of product development — from definition and design to implementation and testing.
• Develop functional specifications, assess requirements, and support development and debugging.
• Have hands-on experience with networking or network security technologies and C development in a Unix/Linux environment.
• Suggest and implement process improvements.
• Communicate goals and outcomes clearly to project teams.
• Mentor and coach new team members.

Your Experience

• Proficient in C and familiar with Unix/Linux development environment.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP internals and Layer-7 protocols.
• Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Team player with a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced software development experience.
• Graduate degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science or similar, or equivalent military experience.
• Knowledge of multi-core, multi-process, and multi-threaded programming.
• Experience with network packet processing software (7-10 years).
• Experience with application layer protocols like HTTP, SIP, H.323, DNS, etc.
• Interest in learning other programming languages.
• Experience with large-scale or high-performance software design.
• Experience with deep packet inspection engines.
• Experience with GoLang.

Additional Information

The Team

As part of the Layer-7 Application Security group, you will design and develop security features for the next-generation firewall platform, integrating with our cloud security services.

Compensation Disclosure

Compensation will depend on qualifications, experience, and location, with a typical range between $170,000 and $277,000 per year, including potential stock options and bonuses. Benefits details are available upon request.
