The Principal Environmental Engineer leads the implementation ofQuality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) in one or more sections of theWatershed Management program, serving as oneof the programs key subject matter experts, offering second opinions, mentoringenvironmental engineers/consultants, and offering consultations on complexprojects or areas of emerging concern to proffer solutions. This position reviewsplans, creates permits, occasionally inspects for projects compliance and consults closely with Wake County'smunicipal partners. The individual in this position will apply the ordinances,regulations, stormwater management and erosion control design engineeringprinciples and practices, and accounting tools to ensure consistent, accurate,and timely plan review, permitting and enforcement.
About Our TeamThe Wake County Environmental Services Division of Water Quality educates the public, issues environmental permits, enforces environmental rules and regulations to protect soil and water resources; and leads initiatives on water and environmental sustainability throughout the County. The Division functions at a nationally recognized level and accomplishes its tasks through robust and customer-centric programs in watershed management and water resources.
