Position Overview:
Civilitude's Field Engineer Principal is responsible for managing projects involving sidewalks, bikeways, and urban trails, including schematic plans, permits, and field engineering in compliance with ADA/TAS/PROWAG standards. The role requires highly organized, detail-oriented individuals who enjoy collaboration and fieldwork.
RequirementsDuties and Responsibilities:
Travel to project sites (50-75%) to oversee fieldwork, ensuring ADA and traffic control plan compliance daily.Conduct initial project walkthroughs with the City Project Manager and General Contractor to scope and mark up base maps.Communicate with property owners, tenants, and stakeholders to meet project objectives.Manage permit plans, cost estimates, preconstruction meetings, and project updates.Coordinate with city departments on signals, street narrowing, and striping schematic reviews.Capture daily project photos and oversee report preparation.Obtain necessary access rights for private property as required.Verify inspections, punchlists, and project completion reviews.Work with construction teams to ensure work adheres to specifications and permits.Review construction documents and address discrepancies.Ensure accurate and timely invoicing and client communication.Required Experience and Qualifications:
- PE license in Texas
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Construction Management
- 10+ years civil engineering experience with field focus
- Leadership in managing teams, timelines, and client expectations
- Strong communication skills and proficiency with project management technology
- Valid driver's license with good record
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
