Reports To: SVP Global Digital Engineering Services / Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a visionary Principal Architect with a strong background in Enterprise Architecture
This role will serve as a strategic technology leader responsible for shaping the technology landscape, aligning IT solutions with business objectives, and driving digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enterprise Architecture Strategy:
- Define and evolve the enterprise architecture blueprint in alignment with the organization's business and digital goals.
- Lead architectural governance and ensure adherence to architecture principles, standards, and best practices.
- Design and evolve cloud-native, scalable, and secure architectures (preferably AWS/Azure/GCP)
Solution Design & Delivery:
- Lead solution design for large-scale platforms, including cloud-native applications, microservices, APIs, and data platforms.
- Partner with business and product teams to Modernize legacy systems
- Contribute code when needed to set standards and mentor teams (Java, Python, or relevant stack)
- Communicate realistic timelines and work towards alignment, not silos
Technology Leadership:
- Guide cross-functional teams of engineers, developers, and product managers in implementing robust architectural solutions.
- Manage and mentor a team senior architects and engineers , cloud Infrastructure SREs, providing technical leadership and direction fostering a high-performance technical culture.
- Drive engineering deliverables with a strong sense of ownership and adaptability
- Handle ambiguity, competing priorities, and changes in scope gracefully
- Present technical solutions and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders (Product, QA, Execs)
- Understand client systems and design/recommend/plan Legacy Modernization strategies and work across cross functional teams
- Drive adoption of modern technologies such as cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), AI/ML, DevSecOps, event-driven architecture, and blockchain.
Team Enablement & Culture
- Enable cross-functional teams by fostering knowledge sharing and mentorship
- Lead without authority – influence, coach, and guide where needed
- Bring humility, openness to feedback, and curiosity to team interactions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in Software architecture and technology leadership.
- Experience with target operating model and experience leading complex assessments & technology evaluations
- Proven experience with enterprise integration and digital transformation projects.
- Expertise in cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or GCP), API-led integration, containerization (Kubernetes/Docker), and event streaming platforms (Kafka, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of enterprise and solution architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.).
- Experience in cloud-native design, distributed systems, and data modeling
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with Agile/SAFe delivery models.
- Background in AI/ML, predictive analytics, and/or robotic process automation (RPA).
- Hands-on with architecture tools (e.g., ArchiMate, Sparx EA, LeanIX).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Travel - Occasional Travel Required
Insurance Specific experience Required:
- Strong knowledge across Group Insurance and integration domains
- Experience in the insurance industry (P&C, Life, Health, or Reinsurance) and insurance processes (underwriting, claims, policy administration, billing, etc.)
- Modernize legacy systems and enable digital insurance capabilities (e.g., AI-driven underwriting, telematics, our integrations).
- Understanding of regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, NAIC, SOC2) and industry data standards (e.g., ACORD).
