Overview Annapolis Area Christian School is a Christ-centered learning community with a mission to engage students in an education of excellence, enabling them to impact the world through a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We seek a dynamic, faith-driven Lower School Principal who will provide visionary leadership, foster a culture of spiritual growth and academic excellence, and partner with faculty, parents, and students to cultivate a joyful and Christ-honoring learning environment for all students in grades Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Key ResponsibilitiesSpiritual Leadership • Model a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and integrate biblical truth throughout all aspects of school life. • Foster a culture of prayer, worship, and Christian character development among students and staff. • Support the school's mission and spiritual formation goals throughout all lower school activities. Academic Leadership • Oversee the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of a rigorous, standards-based, Biblically-integrated, fully scaffolded Kindergarten through 12th grade curriculum. • Support teachers in effective instructional practices, classroom management, and professional growth. • Lead ongoing assessment and improvement of teaching and learning to ensure excellence in student outcomes aligned with the AACS Portrait of a Graduate. • Utilize data to inform decisions and promote continuous improvement. Faculty Development & Supervision • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty who are spiritually mature and professionally qualified.. • Provide meaningful feedback, coaching, and professional development opportunities. • Encourage collaboration and unity among staff, fostering a positive and mission-aligned team culture. Student Life & Community • Promote a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment where every student is known and valued. • Partner with teachers and parents to support student behavior, character development, and social-emotional growth. • Celebrate student achievements and spiritual growth through events, assemblies, and community gatherings. Administrative & Operational Leadership • Oversee daily operations of the Lower School in alignment with the broader school mission and policies. • Manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively. • Participation in broader school leadership through the Administrative Leadership Team. • Collaborate with the Head of School and other division leaders to ensure coherence and alignment across all grades. • Communicate effectively with parents, faculty, and the broader school community. Qualifications • A strong and mature Christian faith demonstrated through personal integrity, church involvement, and a commitment to biblical worldview education. • Commitment to active involvement in a local Bible-believing church. • Full subscription to the AACS Statement of Saith. • Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field. • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience and 3 years in educational leadership. • Proven ability to inspire and lead faculty and students toward excellence and spiritual growth. • Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
