Due to growth-driven expansion of its Research Group, Karbone is seeking a Principal Analyst. Analysts, researchers and strategists with practical leadership experience looking to expand their mandate to guide and shape a rapidly expanding team are ideal for this role.
Requirements:
- Lead teams building and maintaining multivariate models for all classes of energy, environmental commodity, power, capacity, and renewable fuels markets.
- Organize the tracking and analysis of pertinent legislation, policy, and regulation impacting energy and environmental markets.
- Originate ongoing and bespoke deliverables for in-house and client usage.
- Manage projects as the research stakeholder across technical platform development, data management and product origination.
- Product coverage may include any combination of subscription and or ad-hoc project-based research deliverables covering various Power, Capacity, Renewable Energy Credits (RECs), Renewable Fuels, etc.
- Deliverables include but are not limited to forecasts, valuations, due diligence, etc.
- Build and maintain relationships with key regulatory and market players, as well as third-party media and market watchers.
- Represent Karbone at industry events to establish and grow new relationships.
Qualifications:
- 5-10+ years in power market modeling, research/analysis, and client deliverable composition
- Industry experience in renewable energy and/or environmental markets required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related preferred; Graduate degree a plus
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Python skills required; VBA and additional coding skills are a plus
- Training in data science required
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and strong analytical perspective
The base salary for this position is expected to be $170K-$220K, depending on experience. Total compensation includes comprehensive benefits, retirement savings plan, and bonus eligibility.
