Principal AI Data Developer Technologist
AI succeeds or fails on the quality of its data - and the world's most valuable enterprise data lives in Oracle databases. Oracle Database 23ai extends that foundation with built-in vector search, in-database machine learning, and unified data services that let developers ship AI-powered applications faster and more securely. Your mission is to make sure every developer knows it, and that development teams within the world's leading enterprises actively use Oracle technologies to build AI applications.
As Principal, AI Data Developer Technologist on Oracle's Developer Marketing team, you'll make Oracle's modern data platform-Oracle Database 23ai, Autonomous Database, Oracle APEX, OCI AI Services, and related tools-the first choice for enterprise developers building AI-powered applications. You will do this by: 1/ Accelerating developer success inside our largest accounts - guiding teams from first concept to production-grade workloads; 2/ equipping Oracle field experts - training sales engineers, solution architects, and partner technologists to speak a developer's language and remove friction; and 3/ feeding product roadmaps with front-line insights - ensuring Oracle's data and AI services solve real problems discovered in the field.
Basic qualifications
10+ years of technical consulting experience in senior roles in Solutions Architecture, Developer Advocacy, Software Architecture, or Enterprise Consulting
Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks or AI coding assistants in real projects
Recognized technical leader with deep hands-on experience with relational, vector, NoSQL, or graph databases (Oracle, Postgres, DynamoDB, MongoDB, etc.)
You write, a lot. You therefore must have excellent communication and presentation skills, and be able to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in at least two of: SQL/PL-SQL, Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or similar
Willingness to travel up to 40%
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
Preferred qualifications
Speaker at major developer conferences; portfolio of high-impact video or written content
Familiarity with cloud-native patterns (containers, serverless, DevOps) and modern AI architectures
Contributions to open-source projects that advance developer productivity or data science

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities
Strategic account enablement : Lead design and architecture workshops on schema design, vector search, RAG pipelines, and in-database ML. Deliver on-site and virtual campus-scale enablement events (100-500+ developers).
Technical content/asset creation : Build end-to-end tutorials that show (not tell) how to ship AI features on Oracle data services. Publish binge-worthy blogs, white-papers, and video series on topics like migrating vector workloads or modernizing Java apps with embedded AI. Help influence developer awareness and perception through livestreams, podcasts, and first- and third-party meetups/conferences.
Field and partner readiness : Create training curricula and hands-on labs for sales engineers and partners. Mentor Oracle and partner architects on developer-first best practices.
Product feedback loop : Pilot pre-GA features with enterprise dev teams and funnel actionable feedback to engineering. Represent the voice of the developer in PRDs and launch plans.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $115,400 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
