Preventive Case Aide – Trauma Systems Therapy Program

Serving Brooklyn

The Trauma Systems Therapy (TST) Preventive Case Aide works with a team of Therapists to support families with children who have been exposed to traumatic events and are experiencing emotional and behavioral problems as a result. The TST Case Aide works closely with the Therapists and Supervisor to ensure all responsibilities are carried out in accordance with model fidelity and the standards of TST, ACS, and SCO Family of Services. We offer strong supervision, robust professional development, and the opportunity to learn about Trauma Systems Therapy, an evidence-based model of practice.

Responsibilities include:
  • Work collaboratively with a team of Therapists and Supervisor to provide assessment, goal setting, interventions, and case management to prevent foster care and promote wellbeing.
  • Learn the Trauma Systems Therapy (TST) practice model by participating in training, coaching, and case consultation.
  • Adhere to fidelity of the TST model: Work within model structure regarding case contacts, interventions, supervision, documentation, and length of treatment.
  • Conduct home and office visits and accompany clients to appointments with housing, public benefits, court, and other service providers.
  • Provide outreach, referrals, escort, and advocacy to connect families with resources, increase economic stability, and prevent eviction.
  • Assist families to complete applications and documentation as needed.
  • Request collateral documentation from schools, medical providers, and other service providers.
  • Support team to assess safety and risk and assist to implement crisis management plans and safety plans as needed.
  • Develop positive collaborative relationships with community-based resources on behalf of the program.
  • Complete all required documentation and data entry within deadlines.
  • Utilize mobile technology to complete documentation.
  • Attend individual and group supervision and all necessary meetings and trainings.
  • Provide administrative support to the office as needed: reception, filing, and other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Demonstrate strong sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic diversity.
  • Commit to being an active contributor to the vision and mission of the program.
  • Work to create and support a respectful learning environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.
  • Previous human services experience preferred.
  • Seeking candidates bilingual in Spanish.
  • Some evening hours required.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Commitment to working from a strength-based perspective.
