The University of Maryland Department of Psychiatry has an opening for a Prevention Manager (Community Program Manager) to support the Center of Excellence on Problem Gambling.
The Prevention Manager is responsible for assessing, designing, coordinating and implementing problem gambling prevention programs statewide in Maryland. The Prevention Manager will have familiarity with grant management, providing training, public speaking, strong writing skills, and knowledge of working with community leaders.
The Maryland Center of Excellence on Problem Gambling (the Center), is a program of the University of Maryland School of Medicine and funded by the Maryland Department of Health Behavioral Health Administration. The Center promotes healthy and informed choices regarding gambling and problem gambling.

Primary Duties
Education: Bachelor's degree. Bachelor's or master's degree in public health, sociology, psychology, or similar human service field preferred.
Experience: Four (4) years of experience involving program planning and coordination experience, preferably in community or university setting.
Supervisory Experience: Two (2) years of work coordination, training, or supervision.
Other: Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience.
