Responsibilities:
  • Manage the enrollment and waitlist process of new families.
  • Ensure a safe, happy, and stimulating environment for children and staff.
  • Ensure that the center's facilities are safe for children and comply with laws and regulations.
  • Evaluate and request the purchase of materials, equipment, and supplies to supervisors.
  • Manage and support teaching staff and promote their professional development.
  • Complete ongoing training and courses to remain up to date on daycare standards and procedures.
  • Communicate and meet with parents regarding their children and center events.
  • Provide supervision, leadership, and support to all center staff.
  • Conduct ongoing informal and annual formal performance evaluations of center staff.
  • Ensure licensing requirements are always met.
  • Prepare for state evaluations, and regularly fulfill all state requirements/procedures.
  • Report suspected neglect and/or child abuse by staff or parents to DCFS.
  • Seek and interview new potential staff, when applicable.
  • Fulfill requests pertaining to the center's well-being by the owner.
  • Substitute/assist for staff when needed.
  • Create media promoting the center.
  • Create weekly updates for parents (Newsletter).
  • Implement and enforce center policies.
  • Accurately file and manage student and staff information (Digitally and physically).
  • Orient new employees on center procedures/policies.
  • Organize monthly schedules for field trips, special events, and holidays.
  • Ensure validity of staff and student documents (CARI, CHRI, etc.).
  • Complete payroll on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Manage staff payroll data ensuring its validity.
  • Complete standard payroll duties including managing new and existing staff members, adjusting pay, and ensuring payroll information is submitted correctly.
  • Provide a written report of all staff members after 3 months, and every 6 months thereafter.
  • This position can be held together with the Head Teacher position based on applicable qualification.
