Our blended GSRP classroom offers the structure and quality assurance of the Great Start Readiness Program, combined with the strong community values and family involvement that define our cooperative approach.*Position Summary*We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate *full-time Assistant GSRP Teacher* to support our blended GSRP classroom for 4-year-olds. This role involves close collaboration with the Lead GSRP Teacher, WCP's administrative team, and early childhood specialists from *Eaton RESA* to implement a high-quality, play-based preschool experience. The Assistant Teacher plays a vital role in supporting child development, maintaining a safe and nurturing classroom, and engaging with families in meaningful ways.*Key Responsibilities** Collaborate with the Lead GSRP Teacher to implement a daily routine aligned with *Connect4Learn* and the *Michigan Early Childhood Standards of Quality for Pre-K*.* Build warm, respectful relationships with children that support their *social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development*.* Assist in observing, documenting, and assessing children's learning using *Teaching Strategies Gold*.* Help maintain a classroom environment that is inclusive, culturally responsive, safe, and inviting.* Support *family engagement efforts*, including home visits, conferences, and family events.* Participate in *Eaton RESA & WCP-mandated trainings*, staff meetings, and reflective supervision.* Follow all licensing, health, and safety regulations, WCP and GSRP policies.* Provide consistency, reliability, and strong communication within the classroom team and school community.*Minimum Requirements** *High school diploma or GED** *At least one year of experience* working in an early childhood setting* Must meet all *Michigan Department of Education* and *Eaton RESA GSRP* qualifications for Assistant Teachers* Must pass a *comprehensive background check** Ability to complete and maintain certification in *CPR/First Aid*, *Bloodborne Pathogens*, and *Child Protection Law* training*Preferred Qualifications** *Child Development Associate (CDA)* credential or *Associate's Degree* in Early Childhood Education or a related field* Familiarity with *Connect4Learn*, *Teaching Strategies Gold*, PELE and the *Great Start Readiness Program** Experience in a *cooperative preschool* or family-centered early childhood setting* Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus*Professional Competencies** Strong understanding of *developmentally appropriate practice* and child development* Ability to work collaboratively with a team and contribute to a *positive, reflective classroom culture** Excellent communication and interpersonal skills* Commitment to *equity, inclusion*, and *cultural responsiveness** Willingness to participate in *ongoing professional learning**Personal Traits** Warm, nurturing, and joyful when engaging with young children* Flexible and adaptable to a dynamic preschool environment* Dependable, punctual, and organized* Genuinely values *family partnership, co-teaching* and *community involvement** Passionate about play-based, child-centered education*Work Environment*This is a physically active role that includes time outdoors, sitting on the floor, lifting children (up to 40 lbs), and supporting children with varying developmental needs.
