Bronx NY Preschool Teacher AideBase Salary $40,000

• Completed at least two years of undergraduate study (60 credits).
• Minimum of one year teacher assistant experience preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, proper grammar and vocabulary.
• Knowledge of child development, individual differences, and learning/motivational techniques.
• Working knowledge of technological software and equipment (word processing, data management, visual presentations, telecommunications).
• Valid drivers license preferred.
• Pre-employment requirements:
  • Criminal background check.
  • Proof of adequate health and ability to perform job functions, with reasonable accommodations.
  • Pass the Mantoux Tuberculin Test as per regulations.
  • Other acceptable qualifications as determined by leadership.

Summary: Assist in supervising and supporting classroom and student activities under the direction of a certified teacher.

• Assist in classroom management, parent activities, and technology use.
• Support instructional practices to meet educational standards.
• Maintain a positive and nurturing classroom environment.
• Participate in school meetings and events.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher or administrator.

Certifications: State certification required. Reports to: School director and/or classroom teacher.

Terms of Employment: Ten-month full-time employee.
