Prefab Shop Plumber Apprentice - DynaTen Corporation : Job Details

DynaTen (a Comfort Systems USA Company) has been successfully providing Commercial Service and Construction Solutions to the greater North Texas market. DynaTen is seeking an apprentice licensed plumber in the prefabrication shop to join our team! This is an entry level position that will assist infabricating plumbing prefab in our operation. You will help execute our organization's strategic goals, fabricating a high-quality product while meeting customer/project teams scheduled delivery dates in day-to-day responsibilities.Position SummaryAs a prefab shop plumbing apprentice, you will support commercial construction projects by fabricating plumbing systems using related materials in controlled shop environment, of high quality and in a timely manner.Principal Duties and Responsibilities• Assist with commercial plumbing fabrication from underground/rough-ins, stack out, Overhead and Domestic water systems in controlled shop environment for our construction projects such as, healthcare, government, educational, manufacturing, data centers and others.• Prefabricate hangers and supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation for water, gas, compressed air, medical gas, or other liquids.• Regular use of basic hand tools and ability to read a tape measure• Assist with fabrication requests using materials such as copper, steel, cast iron, PVC, CPVC, PEX, and other piping.• Duties could include assisting with packaging finished goods and staging for delivery, to assisting with loading the delivery trucks.• Able to work off ladders, man lifts and other equipment from various heights• Perform other related duties or special projects, as assignedEducation, Training, Licenses and/or Certifications• Current / valid Apprentice plumbing license• Willingness to learn to read blueprints and shop drawings• Knowledge of basic and tools and ability to read a tape measure preferred• OSHA 10-hour preferred• High school diploma or GED preferred• Basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, to perform routine measurements and calculations. Ability to work with fractions, percentages, and decimals.Additional Requirements• Maintain a positive, cooperative and teachable attitude• Initiative; self-motivated (driven), self-starter.• Requires basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills.• Complies and promotes company Safety Policy• Analytical and problem-solving skills• Regular and punctual attendance. Ability to work overtime if needed (and approved)• Ability to stand, squat, bend, climb, stoop and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.• Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening• Ability to pass MVR check• Ability to pass a physical ability test• Ability to travel, as needed, for projectsWorking ConditionsMust have the ability to perform the duties above in a controlled environment prefab shop. This will include climbing ladders, working on ladders and elevated surfaces, maintain in good working condistion, tools, materials, and equipment required to your work area. Working exposed to the elements during (when required) at all times of the year.
