Precision Optical Engineer - Corning : Job Details

Design of optical modules for performance and manufacturability for use in semiconductor manufacturing inspection machines. Design of assembly processes for such optical modules. Initial focus on reflective modules for extreme UV (EUV) based semiconductor manufacturing. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Receiving and analyzing customer requirement and converting into module level performance requirements. Reducing module performance requirements to nominal free space designs. Assessing tolerances of free space designs and developing mounting and frame system to realize nominal designs. Working with optical fabrication (Op. Fab) and coating teams to ensure consistent and manufacturable designs from lens/mirror blanks to modules. Working with customers to iterate designs based on evaluations, testing, and other feedback. Working with Corning and customer teams to manage design and scale-up processes to support performance, timeline, and cost targets.
