Overview:

Reporting to the AVP for Practice Management the Practice Administrator I is responsible for leading and coordinating a Practice in excess of twenty thousand (20,000) visits per year. Conducts regular meeting with managers with direct reporting relationship and communicates information to AVP. Participates in operational planning, coordination and implementation of operational and clinical services projects and changes; coordinates clinical process and procedural issues; works with providers and administration to solve complex clinical problems; assists providers to maximize efficiency and productivity of their offices; serves as liaison between administration and clinical support staff

Responsibilities:

- Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees. Interacts professionally, courteously, and appropriately with patients, visitors and other employees. Behaves in a manner consistent with maintaining and furthering a positive public perception of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Health Center and its employees.

- Contributes to and participates in the Performance/Quality Improvement activities of the assigned department. Contribution and participation includes data collection, analysis, implementation of and compliance with risk management and claims activities, support of and participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) teams, consistent adherence to the specific rules and regulations of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Health Center (a) Safety and Security Policies, (b) Risk Management: Incident and Occurrence Reporting, (c) Infection Control Policies and Procedures and (d) Patient and Customer Service.

- Responsible for comprehensive management services to the assigned clinical area including both direct and oversight responsibilities for the followinga. Revenue cycle management (billing, cash management)b. Financial modeling, financial analysis and collaboration with AVP for Ambulatory Care Billing.

- Facilitates contract/business agreement negotiations with external organizations

- Responsible for site facility management and all regulatory compliance standards.

- Committee participation and facilitate strategic planning in collaboration with AVP

- Under the direction of the AVP, coordinates the administrative operations of the physician practice.

- Works with departmental managers and providers to implement, expand and promote projects and programs.

- Coordinates clinical administrative process and procedural issues to ensure the most efficient and effective use of resources.

- Assists providers to maximize efficiency and productivity of their offices by utilizing more efficient process, centralizing where needed, etc.

- Develops annual departmental budget and monitors expenses to meet budget.

- Consistently displays a positive attitude and demonstrates a personal commitment to excellence.

Qualifications:

- Three to five (3-5) years general management, health care management or medical group management.

- Bachelors in Hospital Administration, Business or related field (Required)

- Masters in Hospital Administration, Business or related field (Preferred)

- Work effectively with patients, medical and administrative staff, and the public. (Required)

- Planning, organizing and supervising. (Required)

- Exercising initiative, judgment, problem solving and decision-making, gathering and analyzing data. (Required)

- Researching, preparing and presenting comprehensive reports (Required)

- Requires knowledge of fiscal management and human resource management techniques.

- Proficiency with software applications for data analysis and financial/spreadsheet modeling (Required)

- Personal computer systems and applications to include working knowledge of MS-Office software. (Required)
