Job Description:
  • Keep the CIO informed of all project deliverables promptly.
  • Lead requirements definition and tracking for Electric Powertrain Components.
  • Conduct component and system testing, including instrumentation, fixtures, procedures, and reporting for Powertrain.
  • Support component and system simulations, primarily using Simulink.
  • Develop 2D, 3D, and analytical models.
  • Assist in fabricating prototype test setups and hardware-in-the-loop testers for subsystem integration.
  • Contribute to electromagnetics, mechanical, and thermal design aspects of E-Axle components such as e-motors, gearboxes, differentials, axles, and thermal systems.
  • Perform validation testing at vehicle, system, and component levels in laboratory settings.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with disciplines involved in Powertrain engineering.
  • Analyze test data using statistical and analytical techniques; research alternatives and implement solutions; correlate analysis with design and testing; prepare technical summaries.
  • Develop and specify test procedures and equipment for performance and system development testing of DESTEN engines and transmissions.
  • Additional activities include supervision of prototype builds, worst-case analysis, FMEA, design and validation testing, and expertise in BMS microprocessor software and hardware, including embedded test software, life testing, and reliability calculations.
Individual Requirements:
  • M.S. in EE/ME, Automotive Engineering, specializing in electric powertrain systems, with 3+ years industry experience, or
  • Ph.D. in EE, ME, MET, or Automotive Engineering, specializing in electric powertrain systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrified powertrain concepts, emerging trends, and system interactions.
  • Fundamental knowledge of electric powertrain testing and validation.
  • Experience with testing or developing electric axles and drivetrains.
  • Experience in designing, constructing, implementing, and validating electric powertrain test equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and independently.
  • Proficiency in automotive CAN communication, including creating .DBC or CAN database files.
  • Experience working safely with high voltage systems.
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and interpersonal skills, both in presentation and technical writing.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites in Mainland China, Europe, USA, and the Middle East.
