This position pays $43.06 / hourPotential earnings of $120,000-$140,000 per year with Overtime.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Stationary Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, renovation and repair of boiler systems and all other mechanical systems in the facility, such as steam systems; heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems; building automation systems; generators; pumps, piping, and compressed gas systems; refrigeration and electrical systems and numerous other physical plant functions. Responsibilities include the startup, regulate, repair, and shut down of equipment. Ensures that equipment operates safely and economically and within established limits by monitoring attached meters, gauges, and computerized controls. Manually control equipment and make the necessary adjustments. Use hand and power tools to perform repairs and maintenance ranging from a complete overhaul to replacing defective valves, gaskets, or bearings. Additionally, record relevant events and facts concerning operation and maintenance in an equipment log. Perform routine maintenance, such as repairing and replacing pumps, motors, and other operating equipment, lubricating moving parts, replacing filters, and removing soot and corrosion that can reduce operating efficiency.
- Install, operate, repair, and maintain all boilers, controls, components and attached wiring, cleaning, general and preventative maintenance of units and related equipment.
- Observes steam, vacuum, water, and other meters and gauges to determine operating condition of equipment and keeps steam generating at required pressure and temperature.
- Maintains a preventative maintenance program for assigned area.
- Analyzes feed water and combustion products and determines necessary treatments.
- Install, operate, repair, and maintain all air compressors, air dryers (refrigerant and desiccant), glycol cooling lines, towers, controls, components and attached wiring, cleaning, general and preventative maintenance of units and related equipment.
- Install, operate, repair, and maintain all refrigeration and freezer systems including drains, water cooling lines, controls, components and attached wiring, refrigerant lines, cleaning units, general and preventative maintenance of units, including small office refrigerators.
- Install, operate, repair, and maintain all HVAC systems including drains, water cooling lines, controls, components and attached wiring, refrigerant lines, cleaning units, general and preventative maintenance of units.
- Install, operate, repair, and maintain all refrigerated cooling devices for control panels.
- Install, operate, repair, and maintain all refrigeration devices for drinking fountains.
- Install, operate, repair, and maintain Air and water sprinkler tank lines from Powerhouse to sprinkler tanks including main valves, check valves, sight glasses and tank drain lines located at the tanks.
- Install, operate, repair, and maintain all portable refrigerated cooling units (NESLAB, SPOT COOLERS), controls components and attached wiring, cleaning, and general and preventative maintenance of units.
- Fill out clear concise daily log of activities for record keeping and shift exchange. including fuel and water consumption, steam produced and fuel gas content; Supervises maintenance on all types of air conditioning equipment.
Qualifications

- Good motor, hand, and eye coordination
- Good computer knowledge
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment
- Must have the ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and parts specifications.
- Must have own hand tools.
Education And/or ExperienceHigh-school degree or equivalent is required.Minimum of a First-Class Stationary Engineers License from the City of BuffaloUniversal Certificate for Refrigeration Transition and Recovery preferredTwo (2) - three (3) years Powerhouse, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning experience preferredLanguage SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, GMP's and general instructions. Good communication skills are required.Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out both oral and written instructions.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and duties of this job. - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and lift. The employee is required to stand and walk at minimum 70% of the time.
- The employee must be able to work 8 hour shifts with a maximum of 16 hours required.

- The employee must be able to squat or kneel and to bend on a frequent basis.
- The employee must be able to work in a cold and hot environment.
- The employee must be able to tolerate exposure to flour and yeast materials.
- The employee must be able to climb steps on a frequent basis.
