Power Plant Process EngineerLocation: Billingsley, ALContract- 1 Year Job Summary The Power Plant Engineer is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing power plant equipment and systems. This role requires experience in coal-fired or gas power plants with expertise in pollution control processes, performance monitoring, and field inspections. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently in the field, support multiple plants or systems, and provide technical guidance for performance improvement and maintenance planning. Key Responsibilities Plant Equipment & System Expertise
  • Hands-on experience with coal-fired or gas power plant equipment and systems.
  • Knowledge of power plant pollution control processes, including FGD, SCR, ESP, Fabric Filters, MATS, SO₃, etc.
  • Experience with performance monitoring, system troubleshooting, and identifying performance issues.
  • Proficient in plant information systems/software and remote monitoring tools.
  • Perform site walk-downs and equipment inspections to assess system health and efficiency.
Field & Maintenance Support
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
  • Experience coordinating with multiple plants and systems to ensure operational reliability.
  • Experience providing outage support, inspections, and repair planning.
  • Fieldwork experience with OEM designers such as GE, URS, and Mitsubishi (preferred).
Communication & Collaboration
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to document findings and communicate technical information.
  • Ability to work effectively in a plant environment, interacting with operators, technicians, and leadership.
  • Quick adaptability to new processes and system configurations.
Qualifications & Requirements Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering preferred (other relevant degrees considered).
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with outage support, inspections, and repair planning is a plus.
