Location:Anamosa State Penitentiary,Anamosa, IowaPay Range: $53,102.40 - $69,326.40 annually,$25.53 - $33.33 hourly

Job Description: Perform advanced journey level work and leadoffenders in the operation and maintenance of the equipment atthe Power plant supplying utility services to a correctional facilitythat houses more than 1,000 offenders and about 300 staff.The Power plant, which is located outside of the Penitentiary, housesfour 17,500 lb/hr boilers. Staff are responsible for operating threemegawatt of emergency backup electrical generation system,maintaining steam, water and sewer systems in the powerhouse,and maintaining two water wells and associated pumps and waterreservoir. Persons applying should have knowledge of the principles,methods, and procedures; fuel and equipment used in the operation,maintenance and repair of steam generating boilers, electricalgenerating turbines and generators or centralized air-conditionersand auxiliary equipment.Benefi ts: Include IPERS retirement program, group health &dental insurance, paid leave, 401(a)/457 retirement plan withemployer match, holiday pay, free uniforms, etc.
