Power Plant Fleet Engineer (Entry, Staff, Senior) - Xcel Energy : Job Details

This position is for a boiler, HRSG, balance of plant fleet engineer in the Xcel Energy Performance Optimization organization working on combined cycle, gas, and coal plants in Minnesota or Colorado. Fleet engineers are responsible for performing equipment inspections and coordinating repairs, combustion tuning, and performance testing and analysis. In addition, this position functions as a project manager and a plant system subject matter expert. Under general direction, demonstrates complete understanding & wide application of engineering technical principle, theories, & concepts in the field. Independently determines & develops approaches to solutions. Receives technical guidance on complex problems; completed work reviewed for adequacy in meeting objectives. May lead small-medium non-critical projects or critical projects under direction of higher-level engineer/supervisor. May provide work direction to other professionals &/or staff.
