Position Summary
Position: 2nd or 3rd Shift Production Supervisor (Assembly, Shipping and Receiving, Machining Areas)
Shift: 2nd Shift Monday Friday 3:30pm-12:00am
Manages others: Yes, 20 direct reports
Education: HSD / GED required; Associate's degree is preferred
Experience: 10 years of production experience and management of assembly areas is required. 3-5 years supervisory experience in a fast paced manufacturing setting is required.
Essential Responsibilities
General Responsibilities: The Production Supervisor's role is to support, direct, and manage the workforce and work area to safely produce customer requirements within budgeted costs. Supervisors should spend 80% of their workday on the shop floor and 20% off the floor to perform their assigned responsibilities. Responsible for the efficient and effective management of their area to meet goals including:

- Policy/Employee Management
- Time and Attendance

- Quality
- On-Time Delivery
Specific Duties:
- Assist the Director of Operations to accomplish plant wide goals by managing employees, selecting jobs, selection and placement of personnel for daily job assignments
- Inspect as needed completed material utilizing hand inspection equipment, i.e. Vernier calipers, micrometer and drop dial indicators as well as Profilometer and CMM machines
- Enforce Company Rules and Regulations, which apply to this department.
- Responsible for working with hourly employees, human resources and union representatives to staff the department
- Assist department personnel with any technical guidance necessary
- Ensure compliance with PPE and Safety procedures. Correct behavioral or conditional risks immediately. Investigate and write up accident reports.
- Improve workplace 6S through daily observations and improvements
- Assign work daily and move labor to operations necessary to support customer requirements
- Attend and participate in shift start up Gemba walks
- Track Labor and Optimize use of straight and overtime hours
- Manage department spending within budget
- Develop/follow a daily production plan that supports customer needs
- Ensure employees are properly trained and submit all training records
- Maintain visual displays of work group activity and goals.
- Address underperformance/workmanship issues with coaching, counseling, and/or progressive discipline, utilizing Human Resources.
- Assist in make-up of schedule; Direct and guide the dispatching and schedule execution.
- Support/Assist/Lead Lean initiatives
- Establish and support team atmosphere within assigned area.
- Cross training and creating/maintaining a flexible workforce.
- Conduct team Meetings with all direct reports reviewing safety and productivity goals.
Position Requirements
- HSD/GED is required; Associate's degree is preferred
- 10 years of production experience and management of assembly areas is required
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting is required.
- Strong knowledge or lean manufacturing and standard work is required.
- Experience managing machining areas is preferred.
- Union experience is preferred

Equal Pay Act Range
Annual Salary Range $90,600 to $135,400 plus benefits and incentive plans.
