Postal Technician I - Commonwealth of Kentucky : Job Details

The mission of the Department of Corrections is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non- criminal behavior. The Postal Technician I is a vital part of this mission through performing complex duties in the mail-room. Responsibilities may include: Inspecting and processing incoming and outgoing mail for staff and inmates Assists staff and inmates with proper mailing and shipping procedures Maintains logs and prepares monthly reports Maintains and operates postal equipment Maintains and orders mail-room supplies The ideal candidate for this position will have strong observation skills, strong communication skills, be self-motivated, be well organized.
