Shift: Part-Time, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM OR 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Varies)

Pay Rate: Up to $19.05 per hour

Job Description:

Staten Island Care Center is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Porter. The Porter will be responsible for performing day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned. Duties include cleaning and sanitizing resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and common areas, as well as ensuring the overall cleanliness and safety of our facility.

Responsibilities:

• Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
• Clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating or cooling units, etc., as instructed.
• Clean windows, mirrors, floors, carpets, walls, and ceilings using appropriate cleaning methods and solutions.
• Maintain cleanliness of hallways, stairways, and elevators.
• Turn in all found articles to the supervisor.
• Adhere to HIPAA requirements and established fire safety policies and procedures.
• Follow safety precautions when using equipment and supplies, and wear/use safety equipment as required.
• Maintain work areas in a clean, safe, and attractive manner.
• Follow proper techniques when mixing chemicals and disinfectants.
• Report hazardous conditions or equipment to the supervisor.
• Ensure infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained during housekeeping procedures.

Requirements:

• Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
• Maintain care and use of supplies and equipment.
• Perform regular inspections of resident rooms or units for sanitation, order, and safety.
• Willingness to learn and incorporate new methods and principles into housekeeping practices.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions regarding cleaning compounds and solutions.
• Strong communication skills to relay information concerning resident conditions.
