Pay Range: $38.33-$38.33 HourlyPolice RecruitStarting salary when you graduate the academy: $41.24/hourPosition PurposeAttends and successfully completes a Colorado P.O.S.T. law enforcement training academy, and successfully passes the Colorado P.O.S.T. certification test to obtain Colorado P.O.S.T certification.Essential Job FunctionsAttends and successfully completes a certified Colorado law enforcement training academy.Develops knowledge, skills, and abilities specific to the training criteria.Maintains physical fitness.Passes P.O.S.T. certification testing for the State of Colorado.Completes ride-a-longs with police officers during the academy.Reviews personnel and department rules and regulations.Provides court testimony and case preparation for all cases including traffic, criminal or civil requiring the officer's presence or the officer's reports in municipal, state, or federal court.Frequently operates a personal or City-owned motor vehicle to drive to and from work locations throughout the City.Other Job FunctionsFamiliarize themselves with the City of Arvada and the Arvada Police Department.
