We are currently looking for a Full Time Plumbing Journeyman to join our team located at Riverwind Casino working 1st shift.
General Description: Assembles, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating and plumbing systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.
Essential Job Functions:
- Proactively performs routine and preventative maintenance on plumbing systems to ensure operational efficiency.
- Installs, modifies, and repairs water supply systems, gas piping, drain-waste-vent (DWV) systems, valves, pumps, controls, and fittings.
- Tests systems and equipment after installation or repair using gauges and other tools to verify functionality and identify leaks or other issues.
- Assembles pipe sections, tubing, and fittings using appropriate methods including couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, caulking, soldering, brazing, or welding equipment.
- Locates and marks positions for pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixtures using measuring tools such as rulers and levels.
- Measures, cuts, threads, and bends pipe to required specifications using hand tools, power tools, and pipe-cutting, threading, and bending machines.
- Inspects joints, valves, tanks, sinks, commodes, and other components to identify malfunctions and make necessary repairs or replacements.
- Identifies and corrects hazardous conditions to ensure a safe working environment.
- Efficiently completes assigned work orders and documents time and materials used via the Work Order Management (WOM) system.
- Plans, schedules, and organizes material, equipment, and personnel.
- Assigns daily tasks to staff team.
- Mentors, coaches, develops and assists in training in assigned area.
- Conducts hire, separation, and performance reviews of subordinates.
- Oversees job functions, development and job performance, including but not limited to, annual evaluations, employee development and performance management.
- Provides documented feedback concerning performance, compliance, and attendance issues.
- Manages timekeeping for assigned staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsEducation:- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Training and Experience:- Three years plumbing experience required.
Competencies:- Must possess knowledge of plumbing tools, equipment, and materials common to the plumbing trade.
- Must possess knowledge of applicable plumbing codes.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects concurrently.
- Must be able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of departmental rules, regulations, and policies.
- Must be able to follow all instructions, both written and oral.
Skills:- Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of tools.
- Must have strong interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to interface with and influence associates at diverse levels with different backgrounds and perspectives.
- Basic math skills to perform assigned job duties correctly.
Credentials:- Be able to pass a background check.
- Be able to receive a gaming license from the Chickasaw Nation Office of the Gaming Commission as required to work in gaming operations.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Chickasaw Nation Core Leadership Level I required within 12 months.
- Oklahoma journeyman plumbing license required.
- Oklahoma unlimited journeyman plumbing license preferred.
Working Conditions:- Work is performed in an office within a casino environment, where second-hand smoke is present.
- Tolerate occasional exposure bright, flashing lights.
- Work environment can be noisy.
- May be working in areas where temperatures fluctuate, have poor ventilation or areas where smoking may be allowed.
- Works is in a confined and/or controlled environment
- May require wearing personal protective equipment (mask, gloves, eyewear, etc.)
- Requires sitting (up to 25%), standing (up to 75%), walking (up to 75%) of shift.
- Requires hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Requires listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Complete pre-employment drug test with a negative result.
