Title: Software Engineer – PLC Programmer / Controls EngineerLocation: Plano, TX – Position may travel to other work locations in and around Plano, TXSchedule: Mon – Fri, 8:00AM – 5:00PM CSTNote: This is a W2 contract position – C2C & 3 rd party candidates WILL NOT be consideredThe Software Engineer will support the development of an innovative prototype for a piece of automated restaurant equipment. In this role, the Software Engineer will;Collaborate with design engineers to confirm selection of sensors, motors, or other electrical componentsFinalize control panel design (starting from our standard architecture template and standardized component set)Be responsible for completing the electrical BOM and releasing for procurementUpdate wiring diagrams for final control panel design (starting from template)Develop and debug ladder logic programming for sequence and control in the Automation Direct PLC (starting from our standard PLC template)Position Qualifications:5+ years of strong PLC ladder logic programming & debugging experienceAbility to develop & implement a ladder logic program from scratchExperience integrating and programming stepper motors, gantry or motion systems, and sensorsGeneral automation skills, including the ability to spec sensors, stepper motors, and other electrical componentsBasic safety system or safety relay knowledgeAbility to wire and troubleshoot panels & devices (120vac & low voltage)Ability to read, modify, and create simple wiring diagramsAbility to effectively communicate & collaborate with the rest of the automation design teamA willingness to take full sole ownership of controls design & PLC programmingANSI/CE/TUV or UL standards experience preferredAutomation Direct PLC familiarity (ProductivitySuite software ladder logic) preferredExperience with PLC programming using methods such as recipe management, data management, and/or remote data logging, or MQTT protocol, preferredA minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or other related Engineering or Science fieldNote: This is a W2 contract position – C2C & 3 rd party candidates WILL NOT be considered#ALINE11
