Job Description

The Platform Consultant Senior Expert engages in solution design at the platform level. This role requires technical expertise and is considered a subject matter expert in products and platforms, driving the community of platform consultants and building consistency across the enterprise. The individual will serve as a technical mentor and contribute to the technical strategy of the organization.

The Senior Expert is responsible for aligning product design with standards and unlocking business value while enabling engineering focus. The role involves interaction with senior leaders across technology, architecture, and business units to align strategic and tactical needs. It combines hands-on engineering with leadership in architecture direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage priorities, value, and time to support the platform and achieve measurable business impact.
• Conduct stakeholder and risk analysis, and problem-solving for high-priority initiatives and critical decisions.
• Influence discovery and framing sessions across the ecosystem, applying simplicity to achieve outcomes.
• Contribute to the technical architecture landscape of platform consultants.
• Act as a liaison between technical and business leaders, guiding future strategies and aligning roadmaps.
• Build trust and influence with engineering and design leaders to shape backlogs and practices.
• Demonstrate subject matter expertise, considering community input in decision-making and handling critical situations.
• Apply industry standards and engage with emerging technologies, sharing important findings.
• Serve as a thought leader, influencing technical decisions collaboratively.

Essential Qualifications

• 5+ years designing and implementing enterprise software frameworks (e.g., Java).
• 5+ years influencing architectural standards based on engineering learnings.
• 5+ years writing Java-based software products.
• 10+ years of practical coding skills with the ability to drive simple solutions.
• 5+ years driving design thinking and lean hypothesis frameworks.

Desirable Qualifications

• 5+ years in a product-driven model.

Compensation

Salary range is $147,000 - $228,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate will be required to submit to a background check. Allstate generally does not sponsor visas for this role.
