We are currently looking to add a Plant Superintendent to our team in South Boston, VA. This role is responsible for leading all aspects of daily operations within the manufacturing plant, ensuring alignment with Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory (SQDCI) goals. The Superintendent ensures that the plant operates efficiently, complies with all safety and environmental regulations, and fosters a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all production, tooling, and EHS activities to achieve or exceed operational KPIs.
  • Foster a positive, service-driven culture, emphasizing safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a strong focus on employee engagement, training, and development to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Create and manage production systems aligned with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to ensure timely delivery of quality products.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations through the oversight of EHS reporting and initiatives.
  • Manage the Tooling Department, including preventive maintenance, mold repair, and new mold construction.
  • Develop and implement clear performance metrics, goals, and accountability structures for all departments.
  • Drive process improvements and cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality or safety.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, career planning, and professional development discussions with direct reports.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to generate and interpret performance data and reports.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, and safety protocols.
  • Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma required; Bachelors degree in Operations, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking within a manufacturing environment.
