Position Description

Job Summary:

The Plant Operator is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the quarry's crushing and screening plant. This individual ensures the safe and efficient production of high-quality aggregate materials to meet customer and project requirements. The Plant Operator will coordinate activities, manage equipment, and work closely with the Regional Facility Manager/Plant Manager to meet production goals and uphold safety standards.

Essential Functions:

1. Protect Family and Friends. Follow all Company Safety Policies and Procedures to promote a culture of safety across all plant activities.

2. Mastery. Operate and monitor crushing, screening, and conveying systems, perform routine inspections, and conduct preventative maintenance. Handle materials such as stone, gravel, and sand in a hands-on industrial environment.

3. Dedication. Safely operate and maintain plant equipment to consistently produce high-quality aggregates that meet internal and external specifications.

4. Measure. Monitor plant performance and production metrics. Take proactive steps to identify and resolve equipment, safety, and quality issues.

5. Transparency. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation including inventory, production logs, maintenance records, and safety checklists.

6. Customer Focus. Communicate with internal teams and customers to support delivery timelines, ensure product quality, and maximize service satisfaction.

7. Reliability. Assist in planning and executing scheduled maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.

Position Requirements

Requirements, Education and Experience:

1. High School Diploma or GED preferred.

2. Experience in quarry or aggregate plant operations strongly preferred.

3. Electrical and welding experience a plus.

4. Willingness to work variable shifts and overtime as needed.

5. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and troubleshoot equipment issues.

6. Effective communication skills; proficient in verbal and written English.

7. Valid driver's license.

8. Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up-to 10 pounds of force frequently, and or a negligible amount of force constant to move objects. Job involves sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, and bending for brief periods of time in all types of weather. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to communicate to employees/visitors.
