SUMMARY: The Plant Operations Manager will lead all aspects of the manufacturing operations and continuous improvement activities of a plant, business unit or value stream to meet customer and company expectations. Drive best practices and share in the responsibility for developing, evaluating and improving the key performance indicators for all plant operations to include Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Profitability. Develop and lead supervisors in their leadership journey as well as achieving plant and company objectives. Partner with support departments for success, including but not limited to, Human Resources, Supply Chain Planning, Engineering, Safety, and Quality Control.Candidate must have knowledge of metal fabrication processes and equipment. - Drive a culture of safety through plant and business efforts.
- Oversee the production process, ensure production meets or exceeds key performance indicators.
- Strong understanding of performance metrics and experience managing improvement to metrics through collaboration and partnership.
- Detailed understanding of load, capacity, staffing, and workforce skill sets. Manage resources in order to meet organizational capacity requirements.
- Experience developing, implementing and following standard operating procedures.
- Experience managing within a P&L or other financial accounting process.
- Develop, motivate and encourage a team of 4-8 direct reports through inspirational leadership, relationship building, clear communication, and self-awareness.
- Address and resolve daily operational/personnel issues including but not limited to, quality, equipment downtime, labor shortages, & availability of material (raw material, tooling, supplies, etc.).
- Encourage strong communications between departments, shifts, and site leaders through 1:1 interactions, startup meetings, talking points, shop talks, and supervisor meetings.
- Demonstrate support for corporate programs through words, behaviors, and actions.
- Administer all Human Resource policies and practices in a fair and consistent manner, including; assist in the administration of wage/performance system, assist in the hiring, discipline and terminating process, conflict resolution, recognize and resolve shop morale issues.
- Serve as the plant representative in meetings, project teams, and general plant operations.
- Meet plant operating plan objectives and comply with all regulatory requirements.
- Plan future site initiatives.

EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND PROFICIENCIES: Requirements for this position include; a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent amount of relevant work experience, a minimum of 5 years direct manufacturing and supervisory experience at any level, and shop floor manufacturing experience. Candidate must have excellent communication skills, possess effective listening skills, strong interpersonal and team-building skills, display outstanding organizational and planning abilities, as well as have the ability to collaborate with others to ensure decision making does not occur independently of Company needs. The candidate should also possess a positive attitude and the ability to multitask and follow-up with a sense of urgency.Preferred experience in steel processing/fabrication, along with continuous improvement experiences such as Kaizen, 5S, waste, or standard work. Candidates with an understanding of daily cadence and lean management techniques are preferred.
