Role : We are seeking a Plant Operations Manager to analyze and identify opportunities for process improvement and help drive cost and schedule efficiencies to reduce production flow days, improve performance of operations, and achieve respective business targets.

This is a new plant that will be relocating from California to Mesa, AZ, and will require oversight of day to day start-up operations from the Plant Operations Manager.

The ideal candidate will reside in or near Mesa, AZ and will have experience within the personal care manufacturing industry. The role will report directly to our Chief Manufacturing Officer.

Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Provide technical and leadership support to the operations team.
  • Drive strategic initiatives and tactical actions that deliver results to improve program cost and schedule performance. Ensure program milestones and performance goals are achieved.
  • Guide executive level decision-making on how to effectively increase operations rate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Deliver on short-term, high visibility program requests, while creating a vision and executing a long-term strategy to influence change within and outside the organization.
  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of manufacturing schedules and plans to ensure adequate labor, facilities, equipment, tooling, and materials are available on time to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Analyzes and designs value stream, including capability, capacity, throughput, workflow and logistics. Drive actions towards continuous improvement and affordability targets.
  • Any additional duties assigned by the VP of Operations.

Required Skills / Abilities :

  • Industrial Engineering experience / Industrial Engineering Degree.
  • Access Database Front-end and Back-End management
  • Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Tableau experience
  • Control Account Management (CAM) certification or experience
  • Proposal Prep experience
  • Experience with OTC
  • 2 years of shop floor operations support experience.
  • Experience with Performance metrics of high-rate assembly line.
  • Experience / certifications in lean / process improvement.
  • Documented experience working with data analytics and running simulations
  • Familiarity with the Greater Mesa / Phoenix area
  • Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor's Degree with 7 years' experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related experience OR a Master's Degree with 5 years' experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related experience
  • 2 years of proven experience leading teams and / or projects.
  • Experience Microsoft Office Tools (PowerPoint, Excel, etc).
  • Lean or Six Sigma Certification
