Our client is a manufacturing company specializing in fuel and lube oil delivery systems, serving industries such as Marine, Power, and General Industrial Markets. With in-house capabilities in engineering, fabrication, testing, and field support, they execute complex projects and deliver high-quality systems tailored to each customer's needs.
Position Overview:
We're seeking a hands-on Plant Operations Manager to oversee production across two nearby locations. The ideal candidate will have experience running a fabrication shop and, ideally, the ability to quote jobs. This is a key leadership role focused on aligning production with engineering and project requirements while driving efficiency, communication, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of two manufacturing facilities, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely delivery.
- Lead production planning, scheduling, and resource management to meet operational targets.
- Manage collaboration between engineering, fabrication, testing, and project teams.
- Provide leadership and accountability to plant staff, ensuring a high-performing and safe work environment.
- Track and report on key operational metrics, proactively addressing performance gaps or delays.
- Maintain strong communication with senior leadership and project stakeholders regarding plant status and delivery risks.
- Ensure safety, quality, and compliance standards are met across all areas of production.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience managing a fabrication shop is required.
- Experience quoting jobs is strongly preferred.
- Proven background in plant or production management roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on team development and collaboration.
- Familiarity with production planning systems and operational reporting tools.
- Knowledge of manufacturing best practices, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred but not required with equivalent experience.
Location: Multiple locations within 10 minutes of each other, with about 75 total employees and growing.
