Join us at the Anamosa State Penitentiary as a Plant Operations Manager 3! This full-time position offers hours from 6:45 am to 2:45 pm, with Saturday, Sunday, and holidays off.

The role involves leading the maintenance team, planning and supervising maintenance for the entire facility, developing preventative maintenance programs, planning major projects, and contracting outside repairs. You will oversee Correctional Trades Leaders, Power Plant Engineers, Electrician, and Electronic Engineer Technicians, ensuring compliance with all code requirements and timely reporting.

• Ten years of full-time diversified skilled trades experience, with at least two years at the managerial level in construction, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial buildings, or the operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment used in power, heat, and refrigeration.
• OR ten years of full-time experience in technical inspection of commercial and/or residential buildings for compliance with safety codes.
• OR ten years of full-time technical experience in preparing engineering and/or architectural plans for buildings.
• OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting 30 semester hours of post-high school education in relevant engineering fields for each year of experience (excluding two years of related experience).
• OR current continuous experience within the state executive branch, including one year as a Plant Operations Manager 2, or twenty-four months as a Plant Operations Manager 1 or Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, or forty-eight months as a Maintenance Repairs Supervisor.

Some employees may be required to obtain a Fire Sprinkler Installer and Maintenance License per Chapter 100D, Iowa Code, within a timeframe set by the appointing authority.
