The hours of this position are 6:45 am to 2:45 pm with Saturday/Sunday and Holidays off.

The Anamosa State Penitentiary is looking for a Plant Operations Manager to lead their maintenance team.

This position will plan, provide, and supervise maintenance for the entire facility. Responsibilities include developing and implementing a preventative maintenance program, planning major maintenance projects, and contracting with outside contractors for repairs.

This position oversees Correctional Trades Leaders, Power Plant Engineers, Electricians, and Electronic Engineer Technicians.

You will need to ensure all state and federal code requirements are followed and that reports are submitted in a timely manner.

Qualifications include:

• Ten years of full-time diversified skilled trades experience, two years of which were at the managerial level in construction, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial buildings; or operations, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment used to produce power, heat, and refrigeration.
• OR ten years of full-time experience in the technical inspection of commercial and/or residential buildings for compliance with building and safety codes.
• OR ten years of full-time technical experience in preparing engineering and/or architectural plans and specifications for commercial and residential buildings.
• OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting 30 semester hours of accredited post-high school education in structural, civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering for each year of required experience (no substitution for two years of full-time job-related experience).
• OR current employees in the state executive branch with at least one year of full-time work as a Plant Operations Manager 2.
• OR employees with twenty-four months of full-time work as a Plant Operations Manager 1 or Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor.
• OR employees with forty-eight months of full-time work as a Maintenance Repairs Supervisor.
