Plant Operations Director - Starting at $70K

Lake Seminole Square is recruiting for a hospitality-focused Plant Operations Director to join our team! This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all areas of the community while meeting or exceeding federal, state, and local regulations. Ensures all facilities are maintained in a safe, sanitary, and healthy condition. Provides general support services as required.

Essential Job Duties

  • Maintain a quality, safe, sanitary, and healthy environment for residents and staff.
  • Lead departmental staff, ensuring training and effective management.
  • Develop goals, evaluate training, and maintain documentation per HR guidelines.
  • Achieve financial performance targets within the budget, including budgeting and capital planning.
  • Provide effective leadership across departments to meet the community's mission.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrate technical and managerial proficiency.
  • Develop and implement staff succession plans.
  • Train staff in emergency preparedness, safety, OSHA, infection control, etc.
  • Supervise landscaping, maintenance, transportation, security, and communication personnel.
  • Maintain security policies, coordinate investigations, and manage security systems.
  • Oversee communication strategies with residents, families, and staff.
  • Manage landscaping contracts and maintenance.
  • Implement emergency policies and respond to calls.
  • Coordinate work across departments and with resident committees.
  • Review quality control and operational reports to identify issues.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required; engineering or related degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years' experience in plant engineering/trades; three years supervisory experience.
  • Ability to read technical documents, blueprints, and regulations; write reports and manuals.
  • Effective communication skills with managers, clients, and the public.
  • Experience in healthcare or elderly care preferred; fire safety and MSDS knowledge also preferred.
