Plant Manager - Manufacturing - Elgen Staffing : Job Details

Our client, a global manufacturer of precision sheet-metal products, has an immediate need for an experienced Plant Manager, to join their winning team in Williamsville. Our candidate of choice will oversee and manage all aspects of production, sourcing, and planning to ensure that products are delivered on time, with the highest quality, and within budget. You are critical in driving operational efficiency and continuously improving processes to enhance productivity and output. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborate closely with sales and service management to provide accurate shipment schedules. Review daily production requirements with supervisors, guiding and coordinating work to meet product delivery goals. Optimize processes in sourcing, planning, and logistics to enhance efficiency, product quality, cycle time, and cost-effectiveness. Share and implement best practices by working closely with global peers. Analyze production needs and recommend strategies to meet logistics objectives, including inventory control and lead time reduction. Develop and maintain an efficient organizational structure for supervisory, sourcing, planning, maintenance, and production teams. Plan production manpower for both long-term and short-term projects, adjusting staffing levels as necessary. Review and approve personnel actions, resolving issues in collaboration with Human Resources. Provide leadership and direction to staff to achieve production goals. Ensure policies affecting plant employees are implemented and maintain discipline, safety, and cleanliness in the facility. Manage time and attendance records for your areas of responsibility. Work with Collective Bargaining Agreements, negotiating favorable terms for the company and implementing them effectively. Oversee the preparation of cost estimates for new or special products. Assist in developing departmental budgets and control expenditures within approved limits. Develop standard costs for new processes and equipment, aiding in production planning and scheduling. Stay informed on new manufacturing developments and participate in relevant industry or technical groups. Communicate with the our engineering department to stay current on the latest developments and follow procedures for engineering change requests. Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and OSHA regulations within your areas of responsibility. Develop and implement policies to minimize Lost Time Accidents and incidents. Serve as a designated signatory for contracts, reports, and other regulatory documentation. KEY REQUIREMENTS: Four (4) year degree, preferably in Engineering or a Technical discipline 5-7 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment Ability to read and interpret machine and assembly-related drawings Familiarity with machine shop and fabrication equipment, as well as assembly practices Basic understanding of CNC machining and CAM programming Proven planning skills in a discrete manufacturing environment Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement principles Effective use of an MRP business operating system (e.g., Infor LN, SAP, Axapta) Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel Willingness to work daily in a machine shop environment Availability for off-shift work as needed Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to collaborate, motivate, and interact effectively with others Strong problem-solving abilities Pragmatic, solution-driven, and able to work under stress Safety-conscious and focused on maintaining a safe work environment Proven leadership and supervisory skills WE OFFER: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Please apply today to be immediately considered for the role!
