About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead our manufacturing operations, including production scheduling, maintenance, and day-to-day plant activities. This role is essential in driving productivity, maintaining high quality standards, managing costs, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience, a strategic mindset, and a hands-on approach to managing plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily manufacturing operations through direct supervision of scheduling, production, and maintenance teams.
- Set and monitor performance goals for order fulfillment, inventory levels, and on-time delivery.
- Develop daily production schedules in collaboration with supervisors and schedulers to optimize resources.
- Ensure manufacturing processes are efficient and align with quality, cost, and delivery targets.
- Promote a strong quality mindset; ensure products meet all specifications and customer expectations.
- Manage staffing based on standard labor models to meet operational goals.
- Support and mentor plant leaders; actively participate in succession planning and leadership development.
- Foster a collaborative, team-oriented culture with open communication across all departments.
- Oversee equipment performance and maintenance activities using CMMS tools; ensure timely resolution of equipment issues.
- Partner with Engineering on new product introductions; provide input on manufacturing feasibility.
- Monitor and address quality issues related to scrap, rework, and nonconformance; support the development of quality standards and work instructions.
- Participate in capital planning, equipment purchases, and installations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures; support consistent disciplinary practices when needed.
- Manage budget planning, forecasting, and overall financial performance of plant operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5–10 years of leadership experience in manufacturing operations.
- Proven ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and improve operational performance.
- Strong knowledge of production processes, quality assurance, and scheduling.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Solid analytical skills; able to interpret data and make sound decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions
- This role requires regular movement between buildings, carrying of materials, and active communication with team members on the production floor.
- Noise levels are typically moderate
