Job Summary:

Join our dynamic team as the Plant Manager of Titan s flagship operation, Pennsuco Cement, located just west of Miami in Medley, Florida. With nearly 3 million tons of capacity, this fully modernized plant is now the largest cement facility in Florida and is recognized as one of the most environmentally friendly and efficient plants in the United States.

Titan s Pennsuco quarry is one of the largest in the United States producing more than 7.5 million tons of limestone products annually.

Your Impact:

The Cement Plant Manager oversees all aspects of cement production at the facility, integrating digitalization strategies to optimize operations while fostering a culture of career development and continuous learning among plant personnel. He or she is responsible for managing plant operations, leveraging digital tools and technologies, nurturing talent, and meeting production targets while adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Vision:

  • Develop a clear vision and strategy for the plant's operations, aligning them with the company's goals.
  • Provide strong leadership to inspire and motivate employees toward achieving the plant's objectives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

2. People Development and Management:

  • Identify talent within the organization and develop succession plans to ensure continuity in leadership positions.
  • Implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of employees at all levels.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to employees to support their career growth and personal development.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to help employees improve and excel in their roles.
  • Encourage a collaborative and inclusive work environment where employees feel valued and empowered.

3. Safety and Compliance:

  • Prioritize safety as the top concern and ensure that all employees adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Implement and enforce safety training programs to minimize accidents and injuries in the workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies related to waste management and emissions control.

4. Operations Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of plant operations, including production, quality control, maintenance, and logistics.
  • Develop and implement efficient production schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing resources and minimizing costs.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the plant's performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement best practices and quality standards to ensure that products meet or exceed customer expectations.

5. Communication and Stakeholder Management:

  • Maintain open and transparent communication with employees, fostering a culture of trust and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the organization, such as sales, marketing, and procurement, to ensure alignment and coordination.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, suppliers, and local communities.

6. Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the plant's budget, ensuring that expenses are controlled and resources are allocated effectively.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements to enhance the plant's profitability.
  • Analyze financial performance metrics to assess the plant's performance and make data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvement.

Person Specification:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of cement plant management experience.
  • Experience applying LEAN / Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
