Plant Manager

Based in Hanover, PA, and reporting to the Sr. Director, North America Filler Metal Operations, the Plant Manager will provide dynamic leadership to approximately 275 union and non-union associates across two facilities in Hanover and a distribution center located in Gettysburg, PA. The Plant Manager has P&L responsibility for these facilities and provides strategic guidance for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, Operations, and Production targets.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage sites to optimize efficiency and operational economics.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control procedures.
  • Build a safety-first and culture of accountability.
  • Drive margin improvements by analyzing and enhancing operational KPIs using ESAB Business Excellence (EBX) tools.
  • Implement production schedules and optimize manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Monitor production metrics like yield, throughput, and scrap rates to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to meet industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Enhance inventory process efficiency and maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Conduct safety audits, provide safety training, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, encouraging associate engagement.
  • Develop a passionate leadership team focused on problem-solving, performance, and success.
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing; welding or metallurgy experience is ideal. Managing in a union environment is a plus.
  • Proven success in managing production operations, process optimization, and meeting targets.
  • Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma).
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and motivational skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decisions and root cause analysis.
  • Humble leadership style with excellent cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to operate with urgency in a fast-paced environment.
