Job Description Summary: This position directs and manages Plant Maintenance activities to support the manufacturing and packing operations initiatives, inclusive of engineering, capital improvement and R&D implementation projects as assigned. The pay range for this position in California, at commencement of employment is expected to be between $145K and $165K annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. .
Job Description: Position Responsibilities - Directs and oversees the maintenance of all manufacturing and packaging equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness, a high standard of upkeep and compliance with all safety, quality, and budgetary requirements. Establishes, agrees, and delivers against Maintenance Functional KPIs. Guarantees excellence in equipment availability.
- Leads and develops plant maintenance personnel ensuring they have the skills to support current and future operational needs across mechanical, electrical, and control disciplines. Manages, organizes, and coordinates the activities of the plant maintenance staff including training and development, work performance, planning, and prioritizing. Ensures technological awareness and timely acquisition of these skills by the team.
- Manages and develops the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) process and ensures that PPM systems (MP2) are maintained and developed to support delivery of excellent equipment availability. Establishes metrics to track PPM effectiveness and uses data to ensure high decision quality.
- Establishes effective collaboration and teamwork between Maintenance, Manufacturing, Packing, FSQA, Engineering, Facilities and R&D teams.
- Applies business context to determine and implement appropriate maintenance tactics: preventive and predictive through inspection and corrective measures to minimize break-down maintenance.
- Manages the timely and cost-effective procurement of spare parts, maintenance services, and supplies to support equipment availability. Procures, designs, and improves equipment and facilities in accordance with production, packing and food safety standards. Ensures proper guarding is maintained on all equipment.
- Supports R&D projects and installations with Plant Management and Engineering.
- Oversees and negotiates contracts with equipment vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
- Ensures plant compliance with all governmental regulations and agencies such as OSHA, EPA, FDA, and local building, health, and other regulatory agencies.
- Supports implementation of Continuous Improvement programs, new methods, procedures, and systems to improve safety, operational efficiency, quality, and food safety.
- Leads TPM implementation/initiatives in the Maintenance department.
- Manages maintenance activities to comply with all applicable safety, food safety and environmental laws and regulations, as well as Company safety policies, food safety and quality procedures and standards.
- Assists in the company emergency preparedness program.
- Establishes principles for change and maintains change momentum through employee communication, engagement, and development. Measures, corrects and sustains change results.
- Performs special projects as assigned by management.
- Responsible for identifying opportunities for the use of enhanced technology and innovation that will improve departmental effectiveness.
- Responsible for execution and adherence to pre-requisite programs as well as the Company's food safety and defense program.
- The Maintenance Manager, as with all See's staff, must be committed to the company's core principles and workplace values, including diversity and inclusion.
Minimum Qualifications: - Five to fifteen years' experience in food plant maintenance.
- Strong people management and motivational skills. Excellent communication and technical skills are essential.
- Customer service and stakeholder engagement skills, understanding and actively using the concept of internal customer.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Proven project management skills.
- Proficiency in the use of CMMS.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field. Equivalent related work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
