Summary:

Our award-winning client is seeking a Plant Human Resources Manager to join their team. We are seeking a Plant Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function at our manufacturing facility in Fremont, OH.

This is a hands-on, strategic role for a proven HR leader who excels in a unionized, plant-based environment. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for all HR operations, including labor relations, talent management, safety, and continuous improvement. This position is for someone who can drive both strategic initiatives and day-to-day HR tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key member of the Plant Management Team, providing strategic HR guidance to the Plant Manager and leadership team.
  • Lead all labor and employee relations, including a firm, fair, and consistent application of collective bargaining agreements. Prior experience in union contract negotiations is required.
  • Manage all aspects of the HR function, from talent acquisition and training to performance management and total rewards.
  • Champion a safe and healthy workplace by implementing and maintaining all Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) standards, and managing all teammate injury claims.
  • Drive continuous improvement by analyzing HR metrics, addressing employee relations issues, and developing solutions that improve teammate engagement.
  • Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding to build and retain a strong, diverse workforce.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Supervise and mentor a direct report (HR Generalist), providing coaching and support to help them grow.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; a Professional Human Resources designation is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of HR experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Proven experience in a unionized environment with a solid background in contract administration, grievance handling, and contract negotiations.
  • A hands-on, results-oriented leader with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • A comprehensive understanding of all HR facets, including payroll, HRIS systems, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train and engage with employees effectively.
