The Plant Director will lead and manage full plant operations according to Welch's culture, with a focus on people development, process improvement, and driving Welch's Strategic Growth Priorities.The Plant Director position is accountable for influencing and driving the Welch's supply chain strategy including resource allocation, planning, cost optimization, and constant focus on Welch's quality and safety standards. The Plant Director will lead, motivate, and build a team in a collaborative environment, by conveying and driving a compelling vision, focused on a lean and continuous improving culture.Lawton Plant

What You'll DoLeadership and Employee Development:
  • Communicate and champion the Welch's Vision, Mission, operating principles, and lean strategies with a focus on meeting/exceeding and understanding all Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
  • Act as a key decision maker and driver of recruiting “top talent”, making quick decisions and focusing on building capabilities and increasing skillsets
  • Cultivate a plant culture where people want to work, built upon on Our Values, How We Work, and a robust communication strategy.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop plant leadership team through individual development plans, trainings, and stretch assignments to capitalize on potential and ensure succession plans for critical roles.
  • Initiate, maintain and support a superior safety and quality/food-safety program, and ensure all members of the manufacturing team are aligned and aware of the safety culture and guidelines
  • Promote a culture of accountability and team work within the plant. Develop capabilities of frontline leadership through mentoring, training, and coaching.
Continuous Improvement
  • Drive improvements and optimize operations across key standardized lean methods, as well as manage and execute major initiatives across the supply chain network.
  • Coach leadership in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the High Performance Work System techniques and processes.
  • Develop and lead the site's Strategy, including regular reviews and updates with 90 day plans.
  • Ensure a 0 waste and 0 loss mindset throughout the facility.
Financial Planning And Organizing
  • Work with plant leadership to develop annual operating plans, and budget, optimize resources, and ensure ongoing execution of site plans across the entire site
  • Manage and track key performance indicators by tracking results versus targets for safety, quality, labor efficiency, customer satisfaction, cost/case, productivity, and cost contribution management. Ensuring corrective actions are in place, and aligned with total supply chain to drive improvements.
Who You Are
  • Expertise in overseeing manufacturing operations, including production planning, production scheduling, line setup and change out, production control, and production optimization.
  • Expertise in manufacturing standards and metrics (e.g., KPIs) for safety, quality, production, labor and material variances, and employee relations and retention; establishes a culture of accountability through individual and team metrics.
  • Expertise in forecasting, budgeting, and P&L management.
  • Experience in applying Lean manufacturing concepts to reduce cost and improve productivity; experience developing and organizing continuous improvement programs; demonstrated track record of driving positive change.
  • Well-rounded plant leader with experience in maintenance, improving equipment reliability, materials management, inventory control, and end to end supply chains.
  • Experience managing capital improvement initiatives and expansion plans during ongoing operations.
  • Experience in an FDA regulated environment where quality, compliance, and safety are core values.
  • Experience in OSHA regulations, cultivating a safety culture, and owning EPA relations and environmental compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences.
  • Someone who is flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive; able to motivate themself and others; a natural bias for action and ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Experience building, developing, engaging and overseeing high-performing manufacturing teams, with a track record of questioning behavioral norms and driving cultural change. Defines success in terms of the whole team
  • Demonstrates Value for People and Diversity with a strong people orientation, cares about people and helps them find success.
  • Organizational transformation (change management); High Performance Working Systems as a plus
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or Technical Field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in plant management (Plant Manager, Plant Director, Director of Manufacturing)or senior production operations management (Operations Manager) roles of increasing responsibility in food or CPG manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working with Continuous Improvement/Lean methods and tools (Total Production Maintenance, Centerlines, CIL's, Defect Handling, 5S, Quick Changeover)

  • The anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $185,000 - $195,000 annually for US-based employees. This range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position across all US locations, is based on a full-time work schedule, and is Welch's good faith estimate as of the date of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for participation in a bonus plan.
