Plant Controller PositionThe Plant Controller acts as a business partner to the Plant Manager and organization. They are responsible for collaborating with staff to make plant-level decisions. They develop, analyze, and interpret statistical and accounting information to monitor operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters related to the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.
Their responsibilities include managing the preparation of weekly flash reports, monthly forecasts, annual profit plans, and maintaining surveillance on inventories and plant performance against established objectives, including analyzing and reporting variances. They oversee all accounting activities such as billing, accounts payable (handled through shared services), payroll, capital assets, general ledger, and standard costing systems, ensuring compliance with financial standards and company policies.
This position also manages the department by setting goals, determining actions within policies to meet those goals, and conducting training, development, counseling, and performance evaluations of team members. They initiate and maintain procedures, records, and reports related to financial management, assist in report interpretation and analysis, and manage internal and external audit requests. They maintain the accuracy of financial analysis of accounts receivable submissions, standard costing, and support corporate requests to ensure compliance with GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley. They also support operations and manufacturing activities to achieve production, productivity, and employee satisfaction goals.
We are looking for someone with a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related Business field, with five to ten years of financial accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least three years in a supervisory role. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical and computer skills, interpersonal skills, and detailed knowledge of financial and manufacturing processes.
