Plant Controller – Manufacturing Operations

A leading U.S. manufacturer with a strong industry presence is looking for a Plant Controller to oversee financial operations at its Valdosta-area facility. This role is a key member of the site leadership team and plays a critical role in budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and strategic financial guidance.

This is a high-impact leadership role supporting plant performance, driving cost control, and ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring operational decisions are supported by sound financial planning.
• Deliver accurate financial reporting and performance analysis, identifying areas for improvement and guiding leadership with clear insights.
• Manage and mentor finance and IT team members, cultivating a strong, growth-oriented team culture.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to plant leadership by evaluating the financial impact of key operational initiatives.
• Oversee capital expenditure requests, monitoring alignment with budget and investment plans.
• Maintain and enforce robust internal controls and compliance frameworks, including SOX standards.
• Act as the point person for internal and external audit coordination.
• Maximize the use of ERP and financial systems to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to GAAP and other regulatory standards in all financial practices.
• Prepare and present quarterly business reviews to divisional and corporate leadership.
• Support additional financial projects and ad hoc responsibilities as needed.

What You Bring:

• Solid understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and internal controls
• Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and team leadership
• Strong communication and decision-making skills
• Ability to handle confidential data with discretion
• Skilled in financial systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA or CPA is a plus)
• 10+ years of financial leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems and audit processes
