Role and Responsibilities:
The Plant Accountant role in the Manufacturing industry is crucial for ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of manufacturing operations. This position involves overseeing and managing all financial transactions, reporting, and systems within a plant setting, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and aiding in strategic decision making. A plant accountant plays a pivotal role in maximizing profitability and efficiency through detailed cost analysis and financial oversight. Duties and responsibilities of a Plant Accountant include:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Cost Management: Analyze production costs, allocate costs, and monitor inventory costs.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare budgets and forecasts based on production analysis.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and industry standards.
- Cash Management: Monitor cash activity and balances, and forecast future cash balances.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and reconcile stock levels of raw materials and finished goods.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations.
- Auditing: Conduct internal audits to ensure financial records are accurate.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with management on financial decisions.
Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (Accounting or Finance).
- Valid Driver's license.
- Excellent leadership, training, and developmental skills.
Preferred Skills (Not Required):
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Excel.
- Ability to understand statistical data and mathematical concepts and how to apply them to accounting processes.
- Strong decision-making skills.
