Position Purpose/Summary: The Planning Manager is responsible for directing and managing the Planning Department; including, but not limited to: all aspects of Planning (Production/Capacity), Rebuying, Inventory Mgmt., Customer Service, On-Time Delivery of FGs.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain or equivalent work experience
- APICS certification a plus
Experience: 7 years minimum:
- Relevant and progressive planning experience in the manufacturing/packaging industry
- Management of a highly effective team, various roles and levels
- Best practice customer service experiences a must
- Procurement knowledge
Technology/Software (years):
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office required; very strong Excel skills
- Proficient knowledge of MRP/ERP system; Microsoft Navision a plus, or other relevant ERP system necessary
Skills & Abilities:
- Outstanding skills in communication, problem solving, decision-making, prioritization, organization and detail orientated

Position Responsibilities-Tasks-Deliverables

All duties as assigned as well as the following specific activities.
- Manage a team of Planners; working with Manufacturing, Sales, Vendors and Customers to ensure timely production of finished goods to meet customer demands
- Works with the Operations team; maximizing plant efficiencies while meeting customer demand
- Oversees material inventories and manage obsolescence of customer owned materials in conjunction with the inventory team
- Interacts with Director of Client Services/CSR's for Business/Customer partners and Planners in regard to all Supply Chain activities
- Works with Project Managers to monitor and manage system master data, BOMs and routings
- Identify and implement process and/or system improvements
- Create, implement and evaluate metrics for Production Planner/Scheduler to meet Company and Customer objectives
- Provide resolution to production capacity constraints
- Monitor/manage the relationship between Planner/Scheduler and customers through CSR's, ensuring customer requirements/needs are met
- Works with the Operations team; oversee the execution of new projects managed by planning/scheduling
- Manage and track incremental customer and/or vendor chargebacks with the Procurement team
- Oversees the execution of material quality disposition/resolution for customer owned materials with QA Manager
- Responsible for other duties and projects as assigned by management
