General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Planning & Procurement Manager. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this PositionManages Planning and Procurement department activities - hiring, discipline, performance mgmt, & salary planning.
Leads cross-functional teams, liaison between programs team, functional areas, and suppliers.
Performs financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Anticipates customer requirements & develops supportive actions.
Oversees Manufacturing Master Schedule, coordinating with Program Team for forecasting
Practices cycle time management, establishes budgets, KPIs, & metrics.
Reviews & coordinates purchase requisitions, ensuring efficient processing. Coordinates oversight of supplier negotiations and execution of procurement plan.
Develops new supply sources & recommends cost-saving alternatives.
Understand who their critical suppliers are to understand impact to customer.
Coordinates with cross functional team regarding supply chain efforts, ensuring supplier performance & developing strategies to meet customer expectations
