Job Title: Piping & Layout Engineer Location: Remote, CanadaPiping & Layout Engineer who holds a valid Professional Engineer (P.Eng) certification in Canada. The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, layout, and integration of piping systems on large-scale EPC and FEED projects in the oil & gas, petrochemical, and energy transition sectors.Key Responsibilities:
- Develop piping and equipment layout concepts using 3D modelling tools (SmartPlant 3D, E3D, or PDMS).
- Review plot plans, piping general arrangements (GAs), isometrics, and support details.
- Lead pipe routing studies and ensure clash-free designs.
- Ensure designs meet project specifications, codes, and client standards (CSA, ASME B31.3, API, etc.).
- Prepare piping material specifications and valve data sheets.
- Interface with process, mechanical, civil/structural, and electrical teams for equipment layout and spatial coordination.
- Participate in model reviews, constructability sessions, and HAZOP/HAZID workshops.
- Provide support during procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Review and approve vendor and contractor drawings and deliverables.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in a Canadian province (e.g., PEO, APEGA, EGBC).
- 8-15 years of experience in piping and plant layout engineering in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial projects.
- Proficient in 3D modelling/design tools (SP3D, E3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Navisworks).
- Sound knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASME, CSA, API, ANSI).
- Strong understanding of pipe stress analysis, piping materials, and supports.
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and interface directly with clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with modular plant/skid design and offshore piping layouts.
- Familiarity with carbon capture, hydrogen, or renewable fuels projects.
- Previous EPC/EPCM or Owner-Operator project experience.
- Experience coordinating offshore and global workshare teams.
