Physician Assistant - CATHOLIC HEALTH SERVICES OF LONG ISLAND : Job Details

Outpatient Duties: Conduct pre-operative and post-operative patient evaluations independently and alongside the surgeon. Assist with breast cancer surveillance and benign breast disease management. Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care. Manage phone calls, patient inquiries, prescription refills, and care coordination. Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR. Inpatient/ Surgical Support: First-assist in the operating room for a range of breast procedures (lumpectomy, mastectomy, SLNB, reconstruction collaboration). Perform wound care, dressing changes, and drain management. Participate in inpatient rounds as needed. Coordinate hospital discharges and post-op planning. Administrative & Team-Based Care: Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and case discussions. Communicate effectively with medical oncology, radiation oncology, plastic surgery, genetics, and nursing teams.
